Labradorite sphere

This Labradorite sphere features a prominent hypersthene of bronze colored feldspar inclusion giving it a unique visual dual flash.  It has a stunning electric blue flash that stands out.  

This stunning gemstone is famous for its beautiful light effect labradorecsence, named after the Labrador Peninsula in Canada where it was discovered in 1770.  

Inuit and Innue traditions say that the Northern Lights were once trapped in rocks along the coast until a mighty warrior broke them free with a spear, leaving some of the glowing magic behind in the stone.  

Labradorite is a primary component of anorthosite, a rock type that makes up large portions of the moons crust and highlands.
