Tree care guide

Caring for Your Wire Tree

Your Invisible Designs wire tree is built to last — but like any handcrafted piece, a little care goes a long way. Follow these simple tips to keep your sculpture looking beautiful for years to come.

Dusting & Cleaning

  • Dust regularly using a soft, dry paintbrush, makeup brush, or compressed air. Work gently from the trunk outward through the branches to avoid bending the wire.
  • Avoid water and liquid cleaners on the wire. Copper wire will naturally develop a patina over time — this is normal and adds character. If you prefer a brighter finish, a dry microfiber cloth can gently buff the wire.
  • For the stones and crystals, a slightly damp cloth can be used to wipe individual stones if needed. Dry them immediately and thoroughly.

Placement & Display

  • Keep out of direct sunlight. Prolonged UV exposure can fade some natural stones and crystals over time. A bright spot with indirect light is ideal.
  • Avoid high humidity such as bathrooms or areas near steam. Moisture can affect both the wire and certain porous stones.
  • Choose a stable surface. Wire trees are balanced but delicate. Place yours on a flat, stable surface away from high-traffic areas where it could be knocked over.
  • Keep away from heat sources like radiators, vents, or fireplaces, which can dry out and crack certain crystals.

Handling

  • When moving your tree, hold it by the base or trunk — never by the branches, as this can bend or distort the wire.
  • If a branch does get bent out of shape, you can gently reshape it with your fingers. The wire is workable and forgiving.
  • If a stone becomes loose or detached, contact me directly — I'm happy to advise on reattachment or offer a repair.

Crystal Care Notes

Many of the stones used in Invisible Designs pieces carry their own care considerations:

  • Amethyst — can fade in direct sunlight; keep in indirect light.
  • Lapis Lazuli — porous and sensitive to chemicals; keep dry and away from perfumes or cleaning products.
  • Aventurine — hardy and low-maintenance; wipe clean with a soft cloth.
  • Clear Quartz — durable; can be gently wiped with a damp cloth and dried immediately.

When in doubt, treat your crystals gently and keep them away from water, chemicals, and prolonged sun exposure.
